2015 Outstanding Apprentice Award Winner
The JATC is proud to announce that the winner of the 2015 Outstanding Apprentice Award is Jason Jensen of IBEW Local 110.
On the last day of classes, Jason was presented with a certificate of achievement, along with a tool kit donated by Klein Tools.
Congratulations to Jason and to all the graduates of 2015 on a job well done, and for all your hard work these past three years.

To provide quality technical education to all members of the power-limited industry, particularly those who
are employed by contractors signatory to the Minnesota Limited Energy Agreement.

Scope of Work
The JATC provides apprenticeship training and continuing education for the power-limited electrical industry; specifically, to members and contractors signatory to the Minnesota Limited Energy Agreement.
Areas of technical training include but are not limited to:
- Voice, Data, Video (VDV)
- Fire Alarms
- Security and Access-Control Systems
- Computer Networking
- Structured Wiring
- 1st Aid/CPR
- OSHA Construction Safety

Unlicensed Registration Requirement with the State of Minnesota
The State of Minnesota requires all unlicensed electrical workers to be register as Unlicensed. If you are unlicensed and
performing electrical work in the State of Minnesota, you must complete the registration form found at the link below, and
pay a $19 fee.
The registration requires an annual renewal.
In addition, installation credit for work performed after January 1, 2009 will not be granted unless you are registered as unlicensed.
Renewal of unlicensed registration will also require the completion of an approved, 2-hour NEC code class.
Minnesota Unlicensed Electrical Registration
Our classes are approved by the
Minnesota Department of Electrical Licensing
and qualify to meet the requirements for continuing education to maintain/renew the Power Limited Technician License.
Members and contractor employees signatory to the Minnesota Limited Energy Agreement are elligible to register for classes at a reduced cost.
Now Accepting Applications for Full-Time Instructor
The Minnesota Statewide Limited Energy JATC will be accepting resumes for the position of full-time and part-time day-school instructor for the Limited Energy Apprenticeship program. Those interested must submit resumes no later than 5:00 PM on Friday May 29th, 2015. Candidates deemed most qualified for the position will be interviewed the week of June 8th, 2015. The individual selected for the position will be notified no later than Friday June 26th, 2015, and be expected to start work no later than Monday July 13th, 2015.

The position of full-time day-school instructor is salaried, the part-time is hourly. An Applicant should be a motivated self-starter, have computer skills, a solid math background, in addition to feeling comfortable making group presentations, and working with the National Electrical Code and electrical theory. The individual hired will be responsible for assisting the Training Director as needed, developing lesson plans, scheduling their day’s events in the classroom, grading, evaluating, and disciplining students. Instructors at the JATC are expected to be ready for class, and should be prepared to provide both effective and valued instruction each and every day.
