Class Schedules
The Minnesota Statewide Limited Energy JATC provides training for Installer Apprentices at
three (3) locations; Fridley, Rochester, and Duluth.

You can access class schedules for the various locations by school year as follows:

Continuing Education
The following classes are not open to the public. Class participants must be an IBEW Union Member or employed by a contractor signatory to the Limited Energy Agreement.

Power Limited Technician License Prep Class

This class is a total of 16 hours. Weekday hours are from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on scheduled dates. Saturday classes are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Participants will need a current NEC Code Book. They are available for purchase at the JATC. Please refer to our most current newsletter for other books needed.

License Renewal Classes (8 hours PLTL Credit)

The following classes are available to signatory members of the Limited Energy Agreement for $25; nonsignatory members of the Limited Energy Agreement and the general public for a fee of $125 per class.

Class are free to all IBEW Union Members or employees of contractors signatory to the Limited Energy Agreement.

Our JATC has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Electrical Licensing for continuing education credit that qualifies for renewal of the Power Limited Technician License. All of these classes include the required NEC code. Please call our office at 763-571-5922 for more information.

Please note: Technician and License Prep classes may only be attended by IBEW members working for contractors signatory to the Limited Energy Agreement.


All classes are scheduled for our Fridley training facility unless otherwise noted.

Nonsignatory members of the Limited Energy Agreement and the general public will be charged $100 for any continuing education, license renewal class.

The hours for Saturday classes will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch is not provided. Weekday classes will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will require attendance on both days to qualify for the continuing education credit for the Power Limited Technician License.

Please bring your NEC Code Book to all classes.
